And it begins…Singapore
(September 23-26)

After a flight that felt like forever, we finally touched down in steamy Singapore at around 7pm safe and sound, but very tired and hungry.

We navigated the metro with ease and found our hotel for the night, then ventured to near by markets where we quickly found somewhere to get a feed and fill our grumbling stomachs (chilli crab noodles were epic) before retiring to our extremely small and stale smelling room, luckily this was only for one night!

Day two, the real start to the honeymoon and one part Gemma was looking forward to, Marina Bay Sands Hotel. For those of you unfamiliar with this hotel, google it, its amazing! The top (57th) floor is home to a 150m long eternity pool that overlooks the Singapore skyline, and from the sky, looks like a ship! It’s amazing! So majority of the day we spent up here, lazing in the sun, sipping cocktails and taking in the breathtaking views while escaping from the Singapore humidity. If heaven was a pool, this would be it!
We eventually pried ourselves away from the pool and headed to our room, we were served up a room on the 44th floor, overlooking the ocean and Gardens by the Bay and with a bathtub the size of a Mini Cooper (perhaps even larger than our previous hotel room)…pure bliss!
Sunset by the pool, then off to a meal in Chinatown and a wander through the markets was the perfect way to cap off the first full day of our honeymoon!

Day three was tourist day, the rain was falling heavily and the storm clouds lingered all day..this was a good thing as the Singapore sun roasted our poor pasty winter bodies. So it was the perfect day to escape the rain and head to Gardens by the Bay and their two indoor ‘biodome’ like attractions, the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome.
First up we ventured into the jungle like Cloud Forest, complete with a 35m tall waterfall and lush vegetation everywhere. We scaled the inside of the mountain and at the top were greeted with a pretty impressive view of the biodome.
Next up we headed into the Flower Dome, which in the initial five minutes was more like a desert, succulents and cacti everywhere, it wasn’t long though until we had a view of the whole dome and it become a colourful array of flowers and shrubs! It really was impressive, both of them were.
The rest of the day we spent wandering around random shopping malls looking around, eating lunch and having some down time in the room before heading out again for a meal in the Marina Bay complex.

And as soon as it began, the dream was over and our last few hours in or luscious, luxurious room were coming to an end, and our bags were packed and ready to jump in a cab and board our flight to our next destination, Beijing.

The Wedding...

So I just thought I would quickly say a big thank you to everyone who came to the wedding, whether it was just the ceremony or both ceremony and reception. It truly was an amazing day, and we both had such an unreal time.

It wasn't your normal wedding with big numbers, crazy decorations and all the bells and whistles. It was small and intimate, personalised and perfect! It was exactly how we wanted and it was very 'us'.

A big thanks goes out to our parents for all their love and support, our families for being there with us on our special day and our bridal party/best friends for being awesome and being such a special part of our wedding.

People always say that your wedding day is the best day of your life, and I was a little skeptical and wasn't sure if people just said that, but it really was the best day of our lives and we loved every second of it!

Below are a few teaser photos from our awesome and extremely talented photographer Scott Surplice (www.scottsurplice.com.au) who luckily just made it to our wedding after his wife gave birth just 24 hours before our wedding! Congrats mate and can't wait to see the rest of the pics!
